Hundreds of thousands of people have to flee to safety in Japan, following severe rainfalls. After a dam broke near Tokio, a flood wave washed away cars and houses and completely destroyed the infrastructure.
The government says that locally over 600 l/m² fell in only two days north of Tokio. that is aproximately the average annual rainfall for the far W of Germany. The cause of these extreme rainfalls was the taifun Etau.
